Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Kalico, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Use of the service
Kalico is intended for use by licensed veterinary professionals to assist with clinical documentation. The AI-generated SOAP notes are a drafting aid — they are not a substitute for professional clinical judgement. You are responsible for reviewing, correcting, and approving all generated content before it enters any clinical record.
Owner consent
You are responsible for obtaining and documenting consent from pet owners before recording any consultation. Kalico requires you to confirm consent before recording begins and logs this per session. Failure to obtain proper consent may have legal consequences under applicable regulations in your jurisdiction.
AI-generated content and third-party processors
By using Kalico you agree that your voice recordings are sent to Groq for transcription, and the resulting transcript is sent to Anthropic to generate clinical notes. Audio is deleted immediately after transcription; transcripts and generated notes are encrypted at rest. AI output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You must review all generated content. Kalico is not liable for clinical decisions made based on AI-generated content that has not been reviewed and approved by a qualified veterinary professional.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. Sessions expire after 24 hours of inactivity.
Availability
We aim to keep Kalico available but do not guarantee uptime. During the beta period, the service may be updated, modified, or temporarily unavailable without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kalico is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of material changes via email.
